Homemade Popsicles for Teething Babies

Little girl has been teething like crazy the past few days.. any parents that have/had a teething baby know our pain (OUR pain..). I’ve tried making those fancy “momsicles” out of a bottle cap & pacifier and it was a major fail- 3x fail. And when your using your own milk, it’s no fun to have to dump. So we gave in and spent a whole $2 for a popsicle mold. She looks like she is enjoying it right?

So here’s the recipe, I just used my own version of a few popsicle recipes that I found:

3 oz expressed breastmilk

3 tablespoons organic vanilla yogurt

*Make 2 popsicles

There are a few reasons why I love this 1: It has human milk in it, which contains pain relieving properties & is ever so nutritious/2: Yogurt- has probiotics, excellent for bad belly aches, and gives it a nice creamy texture. I’m thinking this would be a great idea for infants/toddlers who are getting over the stomach bug or are sick and antibiotics are hurting their little bellies.

Obviously our 7 month old didn’t eat an entire 1.5 oz popsicle, I put it back in the freezer tray and I am going to let her have it up to 24 hours just as the standard rule of de-thawing breastmilk.

I tried to find info for formula feeding mama’s, according to Similac’s website you shouldn’t freeze formula because it separates the fat & protein. So in that situation I would make homemade applesauce with yogurt and voila a delicious treat for teething babies.
